So even though it is not due until Tuesday I am finished with the dyeing part of my fabric. I may hem all the sides so I can use it as a sarong in the summer.
The photos above are all from the larger piece. The pink skulls are probably 8" tall. All of the flowers are from the stencil I cut earlier in the semester. So all that I used to achieve this design was the flower stencil and a skull template. I will add those next. OHHHHH and a bonus piece because I want to make a purse out of this one

Progress on final pieces
The first image has all the dye and resist on it before its indigo bath. The second is out of the indigo dunk. This one was dunked 4 times trying to get a deep blue color. Tomorrow it will be steamed, rinsed and then more dyed added.

Working towards my final piece
So these are four small pieces when I was playing with the therma-fax stencil and then I have an idea for a much larger piece that includes a large figure. I have decided to not do this for my final piece and instead work on the design over the summer. Later I will post the pictures of these after they were steamed and washed out.
I find that the things that interest me are still how things emerge from the background and may just do a large piece based on this by taping off sections and just adding resist. It is slightly nerve-wracking to not know what will happen in the end but maybe its what I need..a leap of faith
