Napkins: Textiles midterm

this is the stencil from before but more mixed up..just the rice paste on it

with the dye steamed and the rice paste washed out

and dipped in the indigo..its drying now so I am trying to patiently wait..sigh

I actually love this piece, every time I look at it I am surprised that I created it.

hoping that by tomorrow I will have some on fabric..the waiting is always the hardest part

and of course I'm not happy with it because I found a mistake and now I'm torn do I fix it or leave it

I realized I never posted my textiles final. I decided on shibori for the background

with hand applique and machine quilting. It was large..the stitching for the shibori took

me about 4 movies to do.

this is the finished piece. I think it is about 45 x 60 completed.

The birds are hand appliqued with hand dyed fabric..on top of the already hand dyed fabric. It was not the funniest thing I've ever done
